Apply for Credit Card Online – Why It Is Recommended
I’m sure you recall when we used to be bombarded with credit card solicitations through the mail. After all, it wasn’t all that long ago that we were getting them on a regular basis. To be honest, I always had a bit of a problem with credit card application sent through the mail.
Getting them wasn’t a big deal but filling them out and sending them back was. Just think about that for a moment. Your filling in all of your personal information including name, address and social security number and sticking it in an envelope and dropping it in a mailbox.
There is absolutely nothing safe or secure about doing that. How hard is it to tear open an envelope? And you can bet it happened all the time… and still does as a matter of fact. Identity theft is a very serious problem so we must do everything we can to assure our information is safe.
Whenever I apply for a credit card I always do it through the Internet. The reason for this is because the technology and security systems employed by the credit card companies themselves make it virtually impossible for hackers and would-be thieves to steal personal information.
Encryption technology has come a long way and is constantly evolving. Banks and financial institutions cannot afford to allow hackers to steal their customers personal information. Security is priority one and rightfully so. That is why I advise all of our clients to throw away the credit card applications they receive through the mail and apply online.
Now is applying for a credit card online 100% safe and secure? No, but it is darn close. My point is that it is far superior as far as security goes then sending important personal information through the mail.
There are dozens of independent websites available on the Internet that work in partnership with the leading banks and financial institutions that allow people to fill out and submit credit card applications securely. The consumer can also go directly to a specific credit card issuer’s website and apply there as well.
