The Early Holiday Sales Forecast
First and foremost we here at www.bestcreditquote.com would like to wish one and all a very Happy Thanksgiving.
Sure, it’s been an extremely tough year in many regards, but we do still live in the greatest country the world has ever known. And I for one am incredibly grateful for that.
Holiday Sales
The Conference Board released their projections for the 2009 holiday shopping season on Monday and probably to the surprise of no one it doesn’t look too good.
Shoppers are still very nervous about the economy. And an unemployment rate that is now in double digits nationally does not help in the slightest.
The Conference Board projects that the average U.S. household will spend approximately $390 this Christmas. That is down 6.7% from last year’s total of $418.
Of course, we will learn plenty tomorrow . Black Friday is always the barometer by which shopping seasons are defined.
We absolutely will be watching the numbers closely and will keep our readers abreast of the latest news.
